Extraherande System
This map shows how our current economic system is wired. Commercial banks create money through loans based on commercial interest, which incentivizes extraction. Financial power funds politics, and politics protects the power of finance. The economy is owned and run by private interests; nature and land are viewed as resources to extract from; people are viewed as labor to use. The lion's share of profits flows to shareholders, while the broad workforce is left with leftovers. Public funding depends on taxes from an economic system rooted in exploitation — doing more systemic damage than public service can ever repair. Philanthropy, however well-meaning, is too small to catch up. The map makes it visible: this isn't a failure of good people. It's a structure that rewards extraction and punishes care.

Common Sense-System
This map shows what a regenerative alternative could look like. Ethics are embedded structurally — voices of future generations, nature, and other species are woven into the decision-making processes of every enterprise and institution, not as an afterthought but through direct ownership. Governance is bottom-up, drawing on collective intelligence and holistic sense-making. Public benefit banks and mutual credit unions replace commercial banking. Impact currencies reward efforts toward socioecological goals. The economy is cooperative and democratic — multi-stakeholder co-ops with broad ownership and broad prosperity, where profits are reinvested into common benefit funds. Universal needs are met from the get-go — no post-distribution or charity needed. Necessaries like housing are protected from speculation through community land trusts. When everyone's needs are met, people can spend their energy on their talents and contribute to the world. The result is not just survival, but flourishing — a world rich in experiences that becomes possible when the system serves life.
